Big Unit goes on DL with shoulder strain (AP)

The Giants have placed left-hander Randy Johnson on the 15-day disabled list with a strained shoulder. Johnson originally hurt the shoulder on a swing Sunday and left his start after committing a throwing error in the top of the fourth inning. The 45-year-old Johnson (8-6) underwent an MRI exam Monday that revealed the strain.
