Diamondbacks’ Upton put on disabled list (AP)
The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed outfielder Justin Upton on the 15-day disabled list due to a right oblique strain and purchased the contract of Trent Oeltjen to fill his roster spot. Cardinals RHP Thompson suspended 3 games (AP)
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Brad Thompson has been suspended for three games and fined for throwing a pitch near the head of the New York Mets' David Wright.
