Marlins rally against Lidge, beat Phils (AP)
Pinch-hitter Brett Carroll capped a two-run rally against closer Brad Lidge in the ninth inning with an RBI single, giving the Florida Marlins a 7-6 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night. Jorge Cantu tied it with a single off Lidge (0-8), who blew his major league-leading 11th save.

Tim Hudson pitched six effective innings for his second win since major elbow surgery and the Atlanta Braves beat the New York Mets 5-2 on Wednesday night to complete a three-game sweep. Jays extend Orioles’ losing streak to 7 (AP)
Travis Snider homered and had two RBIs, Scott Richmond won for the first time since June 24 and the Toronto Blue Jays completed a three-game sweep, beating the Baltimore Orioles 7-3 on Wednesday night. White Sox GM calls team ‘underachievers’ (AP)
White Sox general manager Ken Williams reiterated his displeasure with the effort his team has put forth this season. Speaking before Chicago played the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday, Williams called the White Sox "underachievers." Earlier this season, Williams said he thought the White Sox could win a second straight AL Central title.
