Starting pitcher Jorge De La Rosa, second baseman Clint Barmes and reliever Taylor Buchholz agreed to one-year contracts with the Colorado Rockies on Thursday, avoiding salary arbitration. Red Sox, P Okajima agree on $2.75M deal (AP)

Japanese reliever Hideki Okajima and the Boston Red Sox avoided arbitration by agreeing to a $2.75 million, one-year contract on Thursday. The left-hander was 6-0 with a 3.39 ERA last year, his third with Boston after coming to the major leagues from Japan. In all, he is 12-4 with six saves and a 2.72 ERA.

Braves, OF Cabrera agree to 1 yr., $3.1M (AP)

Braves outfielder Melky Cabrera has agreed to a $3.1 million, one-year contract with his new team to avoid arbitration. Cabrera, who made $1,425,000 last season with the New York Yankees, was acquired by Atlanta in a five-player deal that sent 15-game winner Javier Vazquez to the World Series champions.

Arizona, 1B Adam LaRoche agree to deal (AP)
