Kansas City Royals Information
Established in 1969, the Kansas City Royals is a member of the Central Division of MLB’s American League. Having a lion called Sluggerrr as their mascot; they play at the Kauffman Stadium , Missouri . The name of the club is inspired by the American Royal Livestock Show which had been a Kansas City attraction since 1899.
The Royals got off with a modest start reaching an impressive position in the mid 1970s when they won three back to back division championships from 1976 to ’78. The following years saw the team relapsing to a mediocre performance only to bounce back again with a bang in 1985 to win the World Series title. At the start of the next decade, they declined rapidly hitting an all time low in the 2000s from which they are yet to recover.
