Based in the Bronx section of New York City, the Eastern Division member of MLB’s American League was founded in Maryland in 1901 and was originally hailed as the Baltimore Orioles from which it changed to New York Highlanders in 1903 and then finally to Yankees in ’13. They have been playing at the Yankee Stadium since 1923 and they wear uniform of white and navy blue.
The Yankees are the most successful team in the history of Major Baseball League with twenty six World Series titles, fifteen East Division titles and three Wild Card berths to their credit. They are also known for their celebrity fan following that includes names like Billy Crystal, Denzel Washington, Adam Sandler, Bob Dylan, Henry Kissinger and Jack Nicholson among others.
